Charts are on sale for a few days, have fun browsing!

Olympic

Friday, February 19th, 2010

I adore watching the Olympics, summer, winter, doesn’t matter. Do I stitch when watching?! YES! There are few spans of time where I have a perfect excuse to plop down in front of the telly with a project and just that! My son and husband like watching too, so I don’t have to worry about them. The cats have even taken part in our viewing party. Bingo likes watching the figure skaters zip around the ice. I am pretty sure he is plotting his course for a catch!

This week I have been felting, and listing some of my stash threads on etsy. IF you pop over to www.ETSY.com/monsterbubbles you will find hand dyed 6 strand threads from now defunct companies that I put up for sale. Lovely threads, but if I designed with it, you guys would revolt en mass! Seriously. SO, I give them up to make room for new threads from The Gentle Art, Thread Gatherer, Crescent Colors, Kreinik, and Weeks. IF I make anything worthy in felt I will post pictures next time around. I am thinking I will expieriment & make a cover for my netbook.

It is Nashville time too! I am as excited as you are to see the new stuff. Look for new monsterbubbles stuff @ the time of the ONLINE NEEDLEWORK SHOW.

Until next time; sit & stitch and try not too throw your needle in the air when Apollo Ono wins his next short track race! Those races make me wanna jump up and down and scream! And I am NOT that passionate sports fan. He & the nature of the short track speed skate race bring out my inner fanatic~! GO APOLLO!

Have I ever told you

How much I LOVE getting photos of my designs that YOU stitched. So often you make better, clearer, color and fabric choices, add your own words, re work the finishing completely and creatively. IT is really one of my favorite things. That said, this is one I received this week from Liz Roads, she stitched “love”, which I had done for my sons birth announcement, as a wedding gift for friends. Taking this piece and making a wedding piece is a great idea that some of you have shared so I was excited to recieve this photo so I could share this idea with you. She also stitched it over one thread on 28 count cashel. Which makes it CONSIDERABLY smaller! I tend to design big…I fight against it really. But when it is your only child, you don’t care! I am just glad that so many people enjoy this design!"love" the wedding version stitched by Liz Roads

I have lots of photos from stitchers of monsterbubbles designs that you all have sent me saved so that I can add them to my web site eventually. Maybe I will start sharing them here too. If you have a flicker or web shots or other place you have your finished posted send me a link! I am sure I am not the only one who would love to admire your work.

Really lovely Liz, thanks for sharing it with us!

OK, don’t forget the Valentines sale.

Until next time~stitch like you have to have your current project finished and framed by Saturday. :)

"love" my version, for my sons birth, considerably larger, though it is hard to tell from these pictures.

Craft Show Crazy

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

So, I realize this is short notice, but…

I have a booth at the O’fallon Township High School Band Booster Arts and Crafts show. That is a mouthful! Today is supposed to be as busy as yesterday. The entire school is full. The gym, the halls, I am in the Wrestling Room. Funny, isn’t it?! I sold one of my “in circle” necklaces yesterday to someone that I know who is going to love it as much as I do, and have many more occasions to show it off. YAY for us!  It is funny to grow attached to something you created. With my cross stitch designs, I nearly always keep the models, and the design is all that I send out into the world. So, this creation and release thing is new for me. Very interesting.

OK, so if you do get out to the show (10-4, O’fallon, Illinois) let me know you read this and you will get a gift!

Until then…

Vote, and then stitch like the floor doesn’t need to be swept!

Things that count

hip chicks shopping

hip chicks shopping

It has been a month 3 days 6 hours 27 minutes and 10 seconds since I finished my last post. I didn’t really count, but I bet that is close! Where does time go? I am asking!

I did Strangefolk Festival, “a festival of social signifigance. A craft happening in psychedelic color.”(or at least that is how they bill it) and then I did the Highland Art in the Park a wonderfully juried shi shi affair, and then our own etsy show, for the etsy street team in which I am a member, ShowMe etsy.  Which you can find if you visit etsy.com. Then I did, um…oh yes, the What’s on Watson show, which is a new event to promote the local merchants on Watson off of Arsenal in St Louis. ALL good. Busy, but good…and I know I am missing one. No matter. I been busy.

ALL ORDERS are sent. Everything and then some. So many of you have been very patient, thanks.

So, that brings me to the special for the next 10 or so days that we have left in this hallowest of months…October. I have the Alleged Salem Witch Charts printed and ready to go. You get all twelve, the border that I did for them so that you can put your three favorite hats into the same chart that reads, “something wicked this way comes”, AND the chart for “Stitch Hazel” all for $55. yep! You got it What a deal!! ALL to help you celebrate Halloween! The charts are in Curtis Bollinger/freebie chart style except in color, no photo of the model. All instructions and color chart.

OK, Happy Halloween. I hope to get back here before that, but just in case….:)
