Olympic

Friday, February 19th, 2010

I adore watching the Olympics, summer, winter, doesn’t matter. Do I stitch when watching?! YES! There are few spans of time where I have a perfect excuse to plop down in front of the telly with a project and just that! My son and husband like watching too, so I don’t have to worry about them. The cats have even taken part in our viewing party. Bingo likes watching the figure skaters zip around the ice. I am pretty sure he is plotting his course for a catch!

This week I have been felting, and listing some of my stash threads on etsy. IF you pop over to www.ETSY.com/monsterbubbles you will find hand dyed 6 strand threads from now defunct companies that I put up for sale. Lovely threads, but if I designed with it, you guys would revolt en mass! Seriously. SO, I give them up to make room for new threads from The Gentle Art, Thread Gatherer, Crescent Colors, Kreinik, and Weeks. IF I make anything worthy in felt I will post pictures next time around. I am thinking I will expieriment & make a cover for my netbook.

It is Nashville time too! I am as excited as you are to see the new stuff. Look for new monsterbubbles stuff @ the time of the ONLINE NEEDLEWORK SHOW.

Until next time; sit & stitch and try not too throw your needle in the air when Apollo Ono wins his next short track race! Those races make me wanna jump up and down and scream! And I am NOT that passionate sports fan. He & the nature of the short track speed skate race bring out my inner fanatic~! GO APOLLO!

Have I ever told you

How much I LOVE getting photos of my designs that YOU stitched. So often you make better, clearer, color and fabric choices, add your own words, re work the finishing completely and creatively. IT is really one of my favorite things. That said, this is one I received this week from Liz Roads, she stitched “love”, which I had done for my sons birth announcement, as a wedding gift for friends. Taking this piece and making a wedding piece is a great idea that some of you have shared so I was excited to recieve this photo so I could share this idea with you. She also stitched it over one thread on 28 count cashel. Which makes it CONSIDERABLY smaller! I tend to design big…I fight against it really. But when it is your only child, you don’t care! I am just glad that so many people enjoy this design!"love" the wedding version stitched by Liz Roads

I have lots of photos from stitchers of monsterbubbles designs that you all have sent me saved so that I can add them to my web site eventually. Maybe I will start sharing them here too. If you have a flicker or web shots or other place you have your finished posted send me a link! I am sure I am not the only one who would love to admire your work.

Really lovely Liz, thanks for sharing it with us!

OK, don’t forget the Valentines sale.

Until next time~stitch like you have to have your current project finished and framed by Saturday. :)

Heather

"love" my version, for my sons birth, considerably larger, though it is hard to tell from these pictures.
