one of many of my favorite Beatles tunes, has conjured up distant ideas of love and
relationship for me ever since I was a teen. "Will you still be sending me a Valentine?
Birthday Greetings, Bottle of Wine?" The notion that true love could go stale frightened me!
Now, slightly more worldly, I realize that all of the fears they suggest in their song do in
fact happen . . .

One of our favorite holidays. This model was stitched by my holiday fanatical sister Sarah, or
as I like to call her, Scary. It was stitched on 30 count 18th Century Blackbird from R&R
Reproductions using Weeks and Thread Gatherer threads. Bat buttons are from Just Another Button
Company. Frame comes from Wood'n'Needle.

"betweenLines" Or rather, READ between the lines. Didn? get it the first time? That is ok, my husband didn?
either... Although, like the design ?utsideBox (think outside the box), ?etweenLines supplies a pretty good
reminder and message on it? own even if you don? ?et it at first glance. Not such a bad thing to see on your
wall every day! Stitch with one strand over one...

Fa la la la la, blah blah blah blah...
my slightly cynical look on the holidays. Last year at Christmas I was doing a show in West
Hollywood called Judy? Scary Little Christmas. West Hollywood is filled with all of these fun
little "shi shi" shops, with one I walked by everyday named "Fa La La."

Imagine bliss.
If you are one who believes that you can dream, or pray or visualize things to make them
possible, then you know what I mean. It is stitched over one on 24 count Blue and Yellow
Checked Banding from Mill Hill, and attached to the Puppy Love pillow from Trail Creek Farm.
We used two strands of threads from The Gentle Art, Sampler Threads. Imagine Bliss!

quote taken from Thoreau. Say it over and over, and then it may be so!!!..... It
sits on my refrigerator for my family to view daily. Part of my creative
visualization routine that I sometimes practice in. Time will tell if it helps any
of us out in our goals and dreams.

Don't Delay Joy. What a concept. I saw this written somewhere this summer while attending a
Bridal Shower that I dreaded going to. When I saw it, I thought it was a sign...ha! Anyway,
it reminds me that I should not postpone doing the things that make me happy. Not easy to do.
I had an aunt who I believe lived this way, we called her Alicey. When she died, at her funeral
the pastor read from a letter that Alicey had left for the family giving instruction,
information about where she was born, etc... and some comments. One of these was "I did what I
liked and liked what I did."

This one reads "viva, la diva" Rah, rah. You know something interesting to me was that while looking up definitions for the word
"diva" for this chart I discovered no definitions for this word that said that it meant anything other than "an opera star, or singer". Now, in my
world and in the pop culture of the now I think the word "diva" has taken on another meaning. I was surprised not to find a dictionary out there
that reflected that!

"don? let? ask for the moon, we?e got the stars" is a quote from the 1942 film Now,
Voyager. The now famous last words uttered by Bette Davis in the film are a Hollywood
spin on an old lesson . . . look at all the good things you already have! Fabric is 32 count

"dwell"
comes from a poem by Emily Dickinson. It is the companion piece to "rise". Where "rise" is
heaven, "dwell" is earth. This model was stitched on 36 count Beach Blend from R&R Reproductions,
and uses threads from Weeks Dye Works, Six Strand Sweets and Kreinik #4 Very Fine Braid. The
beads are Magnifica Beads from Mill Hill. Dwell in Possibility!
