The idea for "Kiss" came from a motel on Route 66 in Flagstaff, AZ. It would
make a cute apron too! Model was stitch on 30 count Dark Cappuccino Linen from
R&R Reproductions using threads from Weeks Dye Works and The Thread Gatherer.
It hangs on a spoon that belonged to my grandmother.

"Life" came from a personal favorite Lennon and McCartney tune. I believe it's something to
live by. Some say that Lennon and McCartney took an old African chant they heard in their
travels (Ob la di ob la da) and put their own spin on it. No one knows for sure, or what it
really means. Model uses fabric from R&R Reproductions and threads from The Thread Gatherer.

I am fascinated with American History, especially of the events leading to the signing of the
Declaration of Independence. One part of our history that sticks out in my mind is that of
choosing the Bald Eagle as our National Bird. Benjamin Franklin, in a letter to his daughter,
wrote, "For my own part I wish the Bald Eagle had not been chosen the Representative of our
Country. He is a Bird of bad moral character..."

"vera" comes from the mind of the artist Ryan Quincy. He has an entire world of Cyclops souls,
and a Cartoon entitled "Super Soda Dog". Ryan resides in Los Angeles, where he shows many of
his works of art to the "oh so hip crowd" in the galleries that litter Hollywood. In his spare
time he is an animator for "South Park". Check out some of Ryan's world at www.rontalk.com.
"vera" is my tribute to Valentines Day. She embodies how I often feel on the day we celebrate
love and Catholic martyrdom.

"wilkommen" is the opening number in the musical Cabaret. It is the greeting to the
show, the nightclub, the bawdiness, and the feel of the era. Cabaret was written by the
legendary team of John Kander and Fred Ebb, and opened on Broadway November 20,1966 running
for 1,165 performances. It is classic musical theatre. Model stitched on 30 count Woodlawn
from R&R Reproductions, stitched with two threads over two with Weeks Dye Works threads. The
pineapple buttons are from Just Another Button Company.
